Goddesses, Totems, and Other Investigations, October 2019

I’m honored to be part of this elegant and unusual show, curated and envisioned by my fabulous, energetic, creative and wild (in a good way) art teacher from Saint Joseph’s College, Bonnie Zimmer. Bonnie is the master of anything woven, dyed and natural. She compiles and unites natural and found objects to make intricate sculptures and impressive temporary installations. She asked ten artists to create small “goddess” figures to be shown with her large “goddess,” intricately woven of various fibers and other objects. There were no parameters except for the size, so it is truly a feast of unique visions. Mine is made of paperclay with a wood base and stands about 9″ tall. I’d argue that the most impressive thing about it is that it made it to Indiana in the US Mail! The show runs through October 11.
